Untitled design (8)

In between lessons, activities, structured and free play we provide the children with 3 mealtimes, a mid-morning snack at 9am and hot lunch around 11:30am for 12pm (depending on age group) which follow a two-weekly menu of well thought out interesting, delicious and nutritious meals. In the afternoon around 2pm the children receive sandwiches and a seasonal fruit.

Located inside the Acacia Complex in Greenstone Hill we offer a safe environment for children to thrive in their early years, affording the children a space that allows them "freedom to grow". We pride ourselves in setting firm foundations for our children by providing an advanced ECD curriculum that focuses on the educational, emotional, social, fine motor and gross motor needs of the children in our care.

Our gates open each morning at 7am and close at 5pm, we strongly encourage all children to be at school no later than 8:30am so that they can start the daily activities, our structured program starts at this time, kicking the day off with 'morning ring' a time for class discussions centered around the theme of the week as well as the focus letters, numbers, colours, shapes and more.

Every day is filled with teacher Led activities aimed at specifically targeting each learning area. Our curriculum is derived from CAPS (Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement) and edified to enhance the learning standard that goes above the expected requirements so that our children may thrive once they head off to big school. While formal educational requirements continue daily, we have weekly themes that we base our lessons around throughout the year keeping lessons interesting and exciting while equipping our children with a broad general knowledge, some examples include wild, ocean, endangered and extinct animals, recycling, types of transportation, me and my family, our solar system and many, many more. This covers our class discussions. We also focus intentional time guiding the children through worksheets and activities to shape and sharpen their fine motor skills like writing, cutting, and threading etc.

A healthy body makes a healthy mind which is why we incorporate gross motor activities like climbing, balancing and ball skills into our structured learning, the children will continue to learn through play in their free time as they instinctively model what they have learned while interacting with their friends.

Of course our minds cannot function properly unless we are fed and only the best, carefully selected meals were chosen for our children to keep them healthy and strong, we include a 2 weekly mid-morning snack with dishes varying from hot porridge to crumpets and healthy muffins, a 2 weekly lunch menu made by our cook with quality ingredients creating delicious meals like chicken ala king, pasta, stews and even soups, and in the afternoon we  provide sandwiches and a fruit of the season.
